That AWD kicks the rear end out nicely, especially in a snowy/icy parking lot.
What I'd really like to do is find a way to fully defeat traction control, the button on the dash turns advancetrac off, but that doesn't turn it all the way off.
(I know this a Forza pic, but I was doing it in real life, for realzies).

You should get a go-pro or the likes, so next time you can SHO us.

I think you have to hold it down for like 7 seconds to shut everything off.
At least that is how my car is.

I think the footage would be decidedly unspectacular. Lol.

Pull the fuse?
Almost decided to do this in the wife's CX-7 that she had years ago. It would turn, turbo would kick in BOOOOST slide, then the DSC would ruin all the fun. Every. Time.
Only problem with pulling the fuse though is setting a fault code for the system, or other issues depending on make and model.
THANKS OBAMA!

You may be able to have it turned down with a good tune. My SVT focus was terrible even using the factory on off switch it only reduced it. With the tune the off button would completely disable it. I bet Livernois knows the answer?

Doesn't work on my car, if it did I'm sure I would have read about it on a message board by now.

Yeah livernois does the tunes for this car, but there are no options for turning the tsc down/off...

I went out looking for something, do you have the performance package?
http://www.shoforum.com/showthread.php… post #14 has instructions on disabling if you have the PP. what's the difference? maybe get an ecu from a wrecked PP car and then blamo! you have a sport mode and a track mode! the latter of the two completely disables tcs while still keeping up the advancetrac safety net!

it's probably not that easy, but fingers crossed anyways!

I don't have the PP.
Got me wondering though, what it would take to make it a PP, I know one difference is a slightly different axle ratio.

Damn nanny controls. I can't believe the "pull the fuse" trick doesnt work though.

Yeah, I had a sad when I found that out. There better at some point, some how, some way, be a way to defeat the nanny controls completely.
What would be stupid-awesome is if you could control the power going to the rear wheels/make it a fixed amount for predictable handling.

That WOULD be fun. They have a lot of power, it would be nice to be able to control it better.

It sure would be. I'm hoping the SHO/aftermarket community stays after it. There was some talk about taking the TCS from an Explorer, since it has different terrain modes, some of which send more power to the rear and lower the amount of intervention.
